Construction of the Computer Room for Banquerohan Resettlement Elementary School: Help Us Complete the Final Steps!
In recent months, the SKEF-F Foundation has made significant strides in the construction of a computer room for Banquerohan Resettlement Elementary School in the Philippines. This project is essential, as the students previously had no access to computers, a vital tool for modern education. With the completion of this room, the children will be able to develop critical digital skills, learn how to navigate technology, and engage with online educational resources.
The rough construction of the computer room was completed in just 30 days. Two of our board members traveled to the Philippines to personally participate in the preparation and kick-off of the project. They engaged in discussions with the school’s leadership to ensure that the space would meet the needs of both students and teachers. Additionally, they worked closely with a local construction firm to outline the plans, space requirements, and cost estimates.
While we are proud of the progress we have made, we also encountered significant financial challenges. The project costs quickly surpassed our initial budget. Thanks to extra contributions from our regular donors and a generous one-time donation from the Tijl Uilenspiegel Foundation, we were able to complete the rough construction. However, the room is still not fully finished. Additional funding is now needed to complete the final stages of construction, including the interior finishing, furnishings, and—most importantly—equipping the room with computers.
We are fully committed to supporting the completion of this project and will do our utmost to raise the necessary funds as quickly as possible.
